Withdean Park & Ride

Help to keep traffic out of the city

If you're driving from further afield and want to enjoy your trip into Brighton & Hove without joining a queue of traffic or struggling to park, use our park and ride site at the Withdean Sports Complex (Street map: The Park & Ride site).

Please note that the Park & Ride site is not available for overnight parking.

Park & Ride is just one of the alternatives to driving into the city. To discuss your travel options just give the council's public transport team a ring on (01273) 292480

Bus departure times and route

Bus service 27, which starts from Tongdean Lane adjacent to the Withdean Sports Complex Car Park entrance, operates to the city centre (Clock Tower in Queen's Road - for Churchill Square; North Street stop C - for The Lanes, North Laine and Old Steine). It runs every 15 minutes (Monday to Saturday daytimes) and every 30 minutes during the late evenings and on Sundays.  Please visit the following link for further timetable information http://history.buses.co.uk/bustimes/tt27-280310.pdf

There is no charge for parking. The return fare on the bus is £3.60: this is a "City Saver" ticket which is also valid on other Brighton & Hove bus routes for a day's unlimited travel. Children 0-4 go free; those aged 5 - 13 pay 90p each way. For children accompanied by an adult there's a 40p return fare. The England National Bus Pass is also valid.

Although stopping en route, service 27 does offer a wider choice of destinations – including Brighton Station, Sea Life Centre and all points along Marine Parade.

Commuting by Park & Ride

The cost of commuting has come down as all ‘Saver’ tickets will be valid.  This means it will be possible to take advantage of savings from the longer period ‘Saver’ tickets, which can be bought online at www.buses.co.uk, or from any post office or One Stop Travel shop.  ‘Saver’ tickets also allow unlimited travel on all other Brighton & Hove bus services in the city (except City Sightseeing and Night Buses).
