Brighton & Hove Youth Offending Service

About Us

The Youth Offending Service (YOS) works with over 350 young people and their families each year, taking referrals from the Police and Courts.The service is a partnership between:

• Brighton & Hove City Council (Social Services, Education and Housing departments)
• South Downs Health NHS Trust
• Surrey & Sussex Probation Trust
• Sussex Police
• Brighton & Hove City Council Community Safety Team

What does the YOS do?

The YOS works with young people aged between 10 and 17, their families and other relevant professionals to offer: -

• support and supervision to young people involved in the Criminal Justice System
• preventative work for children and young people at risk of becoming involved in offending
• reductions in the levels of offending by children and young people.
