Residents parking permits
The residents parking scheme is designed to give preferential treatment to residents who live and wish to park within the areas of the residents parking zones. However, a permit does not guarantee that a space will be vacant to park in. Residents permits can be obtained from the Parking Information Centres

Renewing your permit
A renewal letter for your residents parking permit will be automatically generated and sent to you in the month before your permit is due to expire. Please return this with a copy of your vehicle registration document (if previously requested by us) along with payment for your renewal to be processed.
Please note that although we send out renewal letters to all permit holders, they do sometimes get lost in the post. It is the permit holder responsibilty to ensure that their permit is renewed on time whether they receive the renewal letter or not. Failure to do so may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
If you do not receive your renewal letter, please download a renewal application form from the website and return this with a recent proof of address (some examples are shown in the table above) and a copy of your vehicle registration document.
Waiting lists
In many zones/areas of Brighton & Hove there is a waiting list in operation. This means that even though you can provide proof that you are a resident, and that you own a vehicle, the amount of spaces and permits that have been issued have reached the maximum.

Which areas are covered?
In Brighton & Hove residents parking is split into areas and zones. Each zone and area differs in both restrictions (hours of operation) and the permits that are available. For more detailed information about each area/zone please select from either the links below or search for your zone.
