Beacon Authority 2009 - 2010
Managing the night time economy in Brighton & Hove
In April 2009, Brighton & Hove City Council was named Beacon Authority for the way it manages the night time economy in the city.
The Beacon Scheme is a national scheme run by the Improvement and Development Agency which was set up to identify, reward and share best practice in service delivery across local government. Beacon status is granted to authorities who can demonstrate a clear vision, excellent services and a willingness to innovate.
