Stanmer Park Historic Landscape Survey and Restoration Management Plan
Introduction | The Significance of Stanmer | The Need for a Detailed Plan | Aims of the Study and Plan | Conclusions of the Study | Recommendations of the Study | Implementation and Funding
Introduction
A plan for the restoration and management of the historic park of Stanmer has been drawn up. The council has consulted a wide variety of conservation bodies and leaseholders in the park on the draft proposals and the plan was approved at the September 2003 Environment Committee. The Study is financed largely by a grant from DEFRA under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, with contributions from the Sussex Downs Conservation Board (SDCB) and the council. The work has been carried out by the Colson Stone Practice.
The Executive Summary [PDF 1mb] and Masterplan [PDF 10mb] (please note this is a large file and may take a long time to download if you do not have a broadband connection) may be viewed or downloaded.
A copy of the whole study can be obtained on CD Rom by writing to the Planning Strategy Group at the address below (or email conservation@brighton-hove.gov.uk) at a cost of £5 for individuals or charities or £10 for commercial firms.
