Anti-Fraud and Corruption

antifraud logo

In carrying out its functions and responsibilities, the council is proactive about fighting fraud. Areas of external fraud against local authorities include:

  • Housing Benefits
  • Council Tax Single Persons Discounts and Exemptions
  • insurance claims
  • procurement/suppliers
  • contractors
  • parking and Blue Badges
  • grants

Fraud is not a victimless crime - it's your money.  Fraud is theft and not just from the council but against you.  Help us to ensure that all spending goes on delivering and improving services to you.

If you know or suspect of someone who is stealing from or defrauding the council, please help us to do something about it.  Call the anti fraud and corruption hotline on (01273) 291700, or by e-mailing the details to us at anti-fraud@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

All referrals will be treated in the strictest confidence.  Please note that an answer-phone may be in use out of normal office hours.
