European & International Strategy [MSWord 177kb]Information on EU funding opportunities
With approximately 200 different funding streams available from the EU alone, the team actively promotes key grants that are relevant to Brighton & Hove. These include Interreg IVa which supports cross border co-operation projects with France, Belgium and the Netherlands, European Social Fund which promotes 'employability' and the Lifelong learning programme which provides funding for schools projects. In addition, through the e-mail bulletin service the team provides information on other EU and International funds and grants as well as partner searches received. International Update Newsletter
The Spring 2010 edition of the International Update [pdf 1.44MB] is now available.Advice and support on the development of funding bids
This includes bidding workshops, one-to-one meetings and provision of written briefing materials on funding streams. The team receives additional support through the Southern England Local Partners Office in Brussels which provides access to Brussels based contacts and events as well as giving:
- advice regarding EU project implementation
- information on EU policy developments
- advice and assistance on lobbying on the development of EU policies with local relevance
- advice and support on networking with European partners
The team provides a partner search service for projects requiring European partners. Brighton & Hove is a member of the Arc Manche network and became a member of Eurocities in July 2009. Both networks can provide potential partners for projects. Brighton & Hove was previously in Eurotowns, holding the presidency until the end of 2007, and was also the lead partner in the Eurotowns CAPTURE project. This was a network of towns across Europe, working together to exchange best practice on developing the knowledge economy. The project was part funded through the Interreg IIIc programme.
