News

  • Large Print Survey - Do you have problems with reading standard print books in the library?  Are you partially sighted or visually impaired? If the answer is yes to either or both of the above questions, your views on our Large Print collection would be appreciated. Please complete the short survey.
  • Your View on Library Services - We would like your feedback about our Library services so that we can ensure that we are providing you with the best possible service. We would be grateful if you would answer a few questions as your input will be invaluable to us. This will only take a few minutes of your time to complete.

  • The children’s area of Jubilee Library will be closed between
    26 August 2010 and 12 September 2010 inclusive to carry out improvement work inside the building. The last opening day will be 25 August 2010 and the children’s area will re-open on 13 September 2010. Further information is available on the Library website
  • Moulsecoomb Library will be closed between 23 August 2010 and 27 August 2010 inclusive, to carry out essential landscaping works at the entrance to the library.  For reasons of Health and Safety, the tree at the front of the library must be removed, and the library will be closed so that these works may be carried out safely.  The last opening day will be Saturday 21 August 2010 and the library will re-open on Saturday 28 August 2010.
  • The Encyclopaedia of Brighton is also available to buy at the Booklover Store, Jubilee Library or any community library, priced at £20.
    It is also available at all good local book shops.

Special collections

The library's special collections offer you the opportunity to explore rare books and historical collections on a wide range of subjects. If you would like to access items in the special collections, you can join the rare books membership scheme.

Research service

If you would like assistance with a research project, the research service can search a range of documents and collections. This service is also offered at the Brighton History Centre. There may be a fee for detailed research services.
