Sports & Leisure

Our city offers a wide variety of sporting and leisure activities catering for a diverse range of interests and abilities. Throughout the year the city also plays host to large scale sport and cultural events such as the London to Brighton Bike Ride, and the Brighton Festival.  Brighton & Hove also has one of the most famous and busiest seafronts in the county, including the oldest electric railway in the world - the Volk's Railway. The seafront welcomes around 10 million visitors each year. Away from the beach Brighton & Hove offers a range of sport and leisure facilities, from swimming and paddling pools to sports centres and golf clubs.

City Sports Strategy and Action Plan:

The Sports Development Team have come together with local sports and physical activity providers and groups to produce a City Sports Strategy & Action Plan.  The strategy aims to change the culture of sport and active living in Brighton & Hove, increasing physical activity across all social groups to achieve improvements in health and well being and high levels of sporting performance.
