Youth & Connexions Service
Brighton & Hove - a vibrant city with lots to do - its arts scene, clubs and restaurants are famous. But some of these things cost money and are a long way from where young people live. That's why Brighton & Hove Youth Support Service can be an important addition to young people's lives.
The Youth & Connexions Service provides:
- programmes that don't cost a lot, fun and reflect things that matter to young people
- rewarding experiences
- places for young people to express their own ideas, opinions and feelings
- taking on challenging activities or developing new skills
- helps young people exercise their civil rights
We don't just run youth clubs, we support:
- advice & information centres
- detached youth work projects
- outdoor adventure activities
- group work projects in schools and colleges
- Duke of Edinburgh's Award
- links with sports groups, arts projects and other recreational activity programmes
We help young people with some of the difficult issues and choices that can get a person down. Young people can get free and confidential advice regarding:
- health issues
- drug and alcohol problems
- other things that make life harder than it needs to be
We work with young people between the ages of 11 and 25 but give special attention to those aged 13 to 19.
We encourage young people and adults to get involved in our service so our programmes meet local needs and are what young people want.
