Why you need to apply to discharge conditions

The conditions applied to planning permissions, listed building consents and conservation area consents are a vital component of the approval - in some circumstances it is possible that your approval would be void without proper attention to discharging those conditions.

To bring greater consistency, and to ensure a higher degree of compliance, Brighton & Hove City Council requires formal applications to be made to discharge conditions. One application can cover one, some, or all of the conditions of your approval.

How to apply

The applications forms, and fees, can be found on the Planning Portal ('approval of details reserved by condition'). The form is very simple and you can complete it (and pay) online.
