Support for local sports clubs, coaches and volunteers
There are over 450 different sports clubs and groups in the city. The Sports Development team provides advice and support to those involved in organising and delivering sport and physical activity in Brighton & Hove.
We provide the following support:

Take advantage of a "one to one" support session with your local sports development officer!
We recognise that the focus and needs of each sports club can be different, and can provide you with bespoke advice on the issues that really matter to you:
- A chance to discuss any aspects of running your club/activity
- Look at ways we can work in partnership with your club to support its activities locally.
- Identify specific funding sources to help your club achieve its goals
- Support can be offered daytime or evening (Monday-Friday) - whenever suits you best!

You will be able to choose updates specific topic areas chosen by you and will automatically receive the quarterly SportsWave publication, highlighting all the general news items relating to sport and physical activity in Brighton & Hove.
Outdoor Fitness Classes - Voluntary Registration Scheme
From 1 April 2014 the council implemented a voluntary registration scheme for commercial businesses providing outdoor fitness classes that use public green spaces, owned or managed by the council. Revenue raised through the scheme is ring fenced to the maintenance of the parks which host the classes.
