The gates and railings that form the entrance to the Patching Lodge housing development were designed and made by artist Chris Campbell and installed in 2009. The gates decorative design is made up of a central eye, with a concentrated swirl formation that gets smaller in detail towards the outer railings. Chris Campbell is the sole artist at Campbell Designs which is based in the north Nottinghamshire village of Mattersey and is dedicated to the design and construction of unique items and environments. The sculptural gates and railings act as an inviting entrance to Patching Lodge and are an example of their approach to environmental design.
