Affordable housing development

New England Quarter, Brighton

Ensuring that the city has enough of the right type of high quality, affordable homes is one of our key strategic goals.

The Housing Development Team helps to deliver this goal by working in partnership with Housing Associations, housing developers, the Homes & Communities Agency, as well as the local planning authority.

Are you developing a housing site?

If you are thinking of developing a housing site within the city of over 10 homes, it is advisable to contact the Housing Development Team prior to submitting a planning application to discuss the affordable housing requirements.

Please see our Affordable Housing Brief [PDF 74kb] for full details of our requirements.

Brighton & Hove Housing Development Partnership

The Brighton & Hove Housing Development Partnership is the key delivery vehicle in the city, working to develop and promote new affordable housing.  The partnership is made up of the council, the Homes & Communities Agency and five Housing Associations.
