Independent advocacy, comments and complaints about health services
Each health trust has an obligation to deal with complaints and provide information about their services. This is provided through patient and public involvement forums and PALS (patient advice and liaison services).

Healthwatch is an independent body. Healthwatch provides a watchdog function to ensure local health care services are running effectively.
Patients Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)
The PALS service is here to support patients, carers and families who have any problems or need information while they are receiving NHS care. PALS will also make recommendations for improvements to local NHS services to help provide the best possible care.
There is a separate PALS team for every NHS Health Care Trust.
