Parking Standards

Travel Plans
Major and smaller developments can both have significant transport implications for which a travel plan may need to be written. Advice can be sought into writing and implementing a travel plan from the Travel Planning Team.

The Department for Transport (DfT) has produced travel plan guidelines which set out guidance of best practice to produce high-quality, robust travel plans Good Practice Guidelines: Delivering Travel Plans through the Planning Process [PDF 1.75MB]
Planning Policy Guidance Note 13 (PPG13) and local planning documents should be read prior to preparing a travel plan, as should the advice in Circulars 11/95 and 05/2005, which deal with planning conditions and planning obligations respectively.
