Social Care Out of Hours Service
The Out of Hours Service is for signposting emergencies outside office hours only. It operates through an East Sussex and Brighton & Hove telephone referral system. Around 9,500 calls are dealt with over the year, half of these within the Brighton & Hove area, it is a very busy service.
When you call the Out of Hours service, a call-centre operator will ask for your contact details, eg your name, telephone number and address. The call centre operator will then take the details of the problem (either for yourself or someone else), and will attempt to contact agencies or support organisations that might be able to help you. Unfortunately the requirement may be such that they are unable to provide immediate help in which case the call centre operator will forward your requirement to the social care teams for when the office reopens.

The service opperates 24 hours a day on Bank Holidays
