Geoff Raw is the chief executive of Brighton & Hove City Council. The appointment of Geoff was agreed at Full Council on 22 October 2015. Geoff was recommended for the appointment with the unanimous endorsement of the cross party recruitment panel.
Geoff joined Brighton & Hove City Council in November 2010. He was acting chief executive from May 2015 to October 2015. He was previously executive director of Environment, Development and Housing for the council.
Geoff’s experience includes working for the Mayor for London as director of Design, Strategy & Planning at the London Development Agency. He has also worked for the Housing Corporation as assistant director of Investment, and as National Housing Investment Programme Manager at HM Treasury.
As director of Environmental Policy and Performance at London Borough of Brent, Geoff commissioned environmental services and prior to that was project co-ordinator for the regeneration of Wembley. He is a professional town planner with experience at county and unitary level.
