Healthy Early Years - What Children's Bodies Need

Trainers - JABADAO, experienced specialists who provide simple, understandable theory as well as lots of ideas for person-centred movement activities.
Opportunities for high quality movement play rely most on practitioners ability to model and get involved in real child-led movement play. The training aims to give fresh ideas and provides tools that participants can take back to their teams. This course will cover:
Developmental Movement theory: establishing that movement affects the development of the brain as well as the body; with some simple examples
Supporting movement play: working with a five-part framework to create opportunities for child-led movement play; using resources to support child-led movement play
Making changes in your setting: how to work with your team to extend opportunities for children - how to audit the setting within the five-part framework; identifying roles; identifying who fits which roles; identifying gaps; making a start)
The course will inspire practitioner to model best practice in their setting.
Who is it for?
The course is suitable for all practitioners and is mandatory for the lead practitioner for the HEY Physical Activity module in the setting.
