EYC training - Level 2 Health & Safety for childcare practitioners

The aim of this training
The aim of this training is to address the most common factors affecting the health, safety and welfare of childcare professionals, and young children in their care.
Who this training is for
This training is for all staff working in a professional childcare role including those from commercial nurseries, childminders, and those from not-for-profit or volunteer settings.
This is an elearning course, which can be started at any time
This training provides learners with the basic knowledge for keeping themselves and those around them safe in a work environment, covering such important skills as using protective equipment, dealing with accidents and controlling risks.

- Childcare Health and Safety law
- Accident classification and reporting
- Risks and risk assessment
- Nursery environment hazards
- Play and play equipment hazards
- Manual handling
- Infection prevention and control
This course meets the requirements for Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health, employment law, and employers due-diligence requirements.
It also incorporates statutory frameworks and quality practice guidance governing best practice within the childcare industry including appropriate OFSTED and EYFS Early Years Foundation Stage guidance.
Duration
This e-learning training should take approximately 6 to 8 hours to complete (depending on learning speed).
As an e-learning module the learner can complete this training in convenient stages and revisit whenever they wish. The system will record their progress throughout.
Certification
The learner will receive a Qualifi Accredited Certificate when they have successfully completed the course.
Who should do this training
This is specialist training – for childcare practitioners who need training in the fundamental skills of health & safety.
Please note that only 3 practitioners per setting can apply for this course.

This e-learning course is available at a cost of £10
This is paid to Brighton & Hove City Council with a credit or debit card, using the online application form and secure payment system.
Once your application and payment has been received, you will be contacted with log-in details. Each learner can then access the e-learning course at their own pace and at times to suit them.
