This service has been operating since 2002 and continues to be popular with both employers and jobseekers. The Early Years team at Brighton & Hove City Council produces this publication on behalf of childcare employers and provides advertising and safer recruitment support and guidance. It is the most up to date list of early years and childcare jobs in and around Brighton & Hove.

When is the next publication

Early Years Jobs is usually published every Thursday and the deadline each week for new jobs is Wednesday at noon.

The next list will be published: Thursday 21 December 2017. The deadline for new jobs: 12 noon Wednesday 20 December 2017.

Where are the jobs published?

  • Weekly Email Alert: distributed this week to 1,739 jobseekers, early years and out-of-school providers, children’s centres, libraries, colleges, job centres & employment agencies
  • Facebook: updated weekly on our Early Years and Childcare Facebook page
  • Twitter: posted weekly 
  • Website: uploaded weekly to Brighton & Hove City Council website. Historically this document has been the third most downloaded from the council website
  • Careers events: distributed at various events throughout the year.

How to advertise a job

To advertise a job, complete and submit the online booking form and pay for your advertisement. On receipt of your online application an automated email will come back to you thanking you for your request. You will be e-mailed a proof copy of your advert and be asked to read and check the advert content before we make it live. Please note that adverts will not be published until payment has been received.

The cost is £70 per job advert for Ofsted registered childcare employers and other childcare related businesses in Brighton & Hove and £120 per job advert for businesses located outside of Brighton & Hove. All requests will be individually assessed to ensure jobs are appropriate and relevant to our target market of jobseekers. The final decision will be made by Brighton & Hove City Council's Early Years team.

Jobs Plus **NEW SERVICE** from January 2018 

Jobs Plus will be available to book from January 2018. This service costs £140 per job advert for Ofsted registered childcare employers and other childcare related businesses in Brighton & Hove and £240 per job advert for businesses located outside of Brighton & Hove.

The service includes your job advert PLUS a recruitment expert to support you with short-listing PLUS a recruitment expert to sit on your interview panel to support you with the recruitment process. 

To book this service, complete and submit the online booking form as you would to advertise a job, then click to say you would like the Job Plus service and pay accordingly using the secure online payment system.   

What guidance is there to follow?

All employers have the responsibility for ensuring that recruitment policies and processes are in place and that they meet employment law and safer recruitment guidance.
