Looking for lodgings for young people in the city

Do you live in Brighton & Hove or the surrounding areas? Could you make a difference to a young person’s life in your own home?

Brighton & Hove Supported Lodgings are looking for individuals or families to open their doors to young people and offer them a safe and secure place to live. Most young people can rely on the support of their family until well into their twenties. This is not an option for a lot of young people, especially those leaving care.

This is a new project, run by Barnardo’s but where you make the difference. The young people, aged 16 to 21, often need help with basic skills such as budgeting, cooking and shopping. They may also need help in gaining personal or social skills, training or employment. Every young person will have the support of a key worker to assist them to achieve their full potential and move forward.

We know that a host can make a huge difference to the life of a vulnerable young person. As a host you will benefit from round-the-clock assistance, a dedicated key worker, comprehensive training programme and an allowance of £150 per week.

Could you help someone reach their potential?
