Playbus

What is the Playbus?

Playbus from the side

The Brighton & Hove playbus brings exciting open access play opportunities into the heart of communities across the city, inviting all children to join us in playing inside and outside all year round. Our service, delivered by trained and dedicated play workers, is free, inclusive and open to everyone. We give children of all abilities and backgrounds the chance to play freely together, interact and make new friends. We believe that every child has the right to play and we’re committed to promoting the importance of play wherever we work.

The bus carries a wide range of equipment including lots of items to stimulate different aspects of play which include:

  • physical play such as scooters, bikes, sports equipment, stilts and juggling equipment.
  • indoor activities such as books, card games and Lego.
  • creative play through the provision of art materials, face paints, music, and group games.
  • challenging play which includes activities such as bonfires, climbing and working with tools.
  • imaginative play which can involve dressing up and role playing with other children or staff.

All children under 8 must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Our programme runs from 15 April to 23 May 2013

Sessions run from 3.30 pm to 5 pm, Some of the activities are a bit messy - please wear appropriate clothes.
