Healthy Choice commitment and award logosWe will keep this page up to date with details of cafes, restaurants and takeaways signed up to our Healthy Choice scheme. These businesses are committed to preparing, cooking and serving meals in a healthier way.

Businesses make Healthy Choice Commitments, and businesses that make a range of commitments receive a Healthy Choice Award.

Once a business has signed up they can display the Healthy Choice award or commitment logo on their premises, menus and publicity materials.

Outlets must have a Food Hygiene Rating Score of 3 or above to participate.

Black Radish Grocery and café in Hove selling locally sourced and organic seasonal products. Their ‘help yourself’ salad bar offers a combination of different salads for customers to choose from. Alongside, the café offers sourdough open sandwiches, homemade soups and freshly pressed raw juices. The owners are conscious about waste reduction and sustainability.  October 2017
Jaldee Jaldee Offers a range of  Vegetarian and Vegan Indian street food dishes using fresh ingredients and spices. Every Wednesday and Friday at The Southern Bell Pub but also available on Just Eat. Homemade dishes and sauces which are prepared and cooked in a healthier way.  September 2017
The Good Food Shop A local trader, the Good Food Shop offers  traditional British delights. Serves salad boxes, sandwiches, freshly baked baps and jacket potatoes. Ingredients are locally sourced and freshly prepared onsite. The Shop is actively engaged in our Sugar Smart campaign and promotes healthier food & drink options to customers.  August 2017
Yellowave Beachsports And Barefoot Cafe Bar A lovely beach café that offers freshly prepared and homemade food. Yellowave encourages  Sugar Smart principles, offers homemade smoothies for children and promotes free tap water. August 2017
Nevill Public House The Nevill in Hove, offers a wide range of traditional food which is prepared and cooked in a healthy way. The family friendly pub has introduced  healthy choices, offers gluten-free options and free tap water to customers.  The pub is conscious about sugar, salt and fat in its preparation. August 2017
Iydea Iydea, which is located in the lanes provides customers with a variety of freshly prepared vegetarian and vegan dishes. Dishes are made from scratch and are sourced from local produce. The café promotes free tap water to customers.  August 2017
Made By Barista  Made By Barista  offers a variety of raw protein bars, with natural ingredients with no refined sugar.  Her bars are packed with nuts, dried fruit and seeds. She has worked on producing a Sugar Smart bar. May 2017
Sultan Delights Sultan Delights is a mobile caterer who offers a variety of fresh, nutritious and flavourful vegetarian/vegan salads. Dishes have a Turkish, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influence and are made from natural ingredients and prepared from scratch.   May 2017
Mojo Coffee House Mojo Coffee House is an independent and trendy café that offers a variety of fresh food and drink options. The whole team has attended a healthy catering workshop and have committed to extending their healthy menu choices in future.

Marrocco’s Marrocco’s in Hove has become sugar smart. The restaurant, now offers a variety of healthy food options and no-added sugar drinks within its kids menu. Everything is made from raw ingredients, without any added sugar, salt or preservatives.  The healthy kids menu includes a variety of fruit and vegetables and provides filtered tap water. Also, a fruit cocktail is offered as healthy alternative to its ice cream.  March 2017
The Old Tree Brewhouse Café Located at FIELD, Preston Barracks, the café offers nutrient rich food full of organic and locally sourced ingredients. Meals are freshly prepared and contain a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.  The café provides home baked vegan cakes which guarantee natural sweetness without artificially added sugar. The café offers filtered tap water for its guests to make sure customers stay hydrated.  Alongside, the café provides  a variety of other drinks such as fresh juices and on-site brewed ciders where no sugar is added.
