Help with viewing and downloading content

If you are having trouble saving or opening a document, the following guidelines will help you.

Adobe Reader - PDF documents

Most of the documents on this site, such as reports, application forms, magazines and brochures are in Portable Document Format [PDF].  These files will have "PDF" in square brackets within the relevant link. 

To access a PDF file, all you require is a piece of widely available software called Adobe Reader. Most new computers come with this software already installed. If you do not have it you can download Adobe Reader free of charge.

If you use screen reading software or other assistive technology, the Access Adobe site offers support and tools to help you access PDF documents.  For more information visit the Access Adobe website.


Microsoft Word (MS Word) documents

Some documents on this site are in Microsoft Word format.  These files will have "MS Word" in brackets within the relevant link.  To view these documents you will need Microsoft Word.  If you don't have a copy, you can download the MS Word Viewer free of charge.

Spreadsheets - CSV and Microsoft Excel (MS Excel) documents

Some pages on this site include spreadsheet files.  These files will either have "CSV" or "MS Excel" in brackets within the relevant link.  To view CSV files you will need a spreadsheet program. To view MS Excel files correctly you will need Microsoft Excel.  If you don't have a copy, you can download the MS Excel Viewer free of charge.

Microsoft PowerPoint (MS PowerPoint) documents

Some pages on this site include PowerPoint presentation files.  These files will have "MS PowerPoint" in brackets within the relevant link.  To view these files you will need Microsoft PowerPoint.  If you don't have a copy, you can download the MS PowerPoint viewer free of charge.

Viewing and saving PDF, MS Word, MS Excel & MS Powerpoint files

To view PDF, MS Word, MS Excel or MS Powerpoint documents simply click on the relevant link and the document will display in your browser window.  To save a document to your computer, PC users right click and select "save target as", Mac users control-click and select "download link to disk".

Macromedia Flash and Shockwave

adobe shockwaveTo view parts of this site where interactive or animated content is displayed, you will need a Macromedia Flash or Shockwave plug-in.  These plug-ins are free of charge and can be downloaded from the Macromedia website:

 

 

 

Windows Media Player

Our on-line ceremony page lets you broadcast your ceremony over the internet to your friends and family.  To do this you will need a copy of Windows Media Player, which comes pre-installed on most computers.  For more information visit our on-line ceremonies technical help page.
